Welcome to Francis Marion's Directed Self-Placement (DSP). As you know, students are asked to make an informed decision about whether ENGL 101 or ENGL 101E/101L is the best option for them. To help make this decision, students must be familiar with the course descriptions and must complete this short questionnaire as part of our Directed Self-Placement (DSP) procedure.

Upon completing this questionnaire, you will be given a recommendation as to what course might better fit you. However, this is a recommendation, and ultimately, the decision is yours.
