Welcome to the Promising Practices Application!
The promising practices application encourages innovation, recommends new Promising Practices for the Inventory of Evidence-based, Research-based, and Promising Practices, and allows applicants access to the UW technical assistance (TA) available as part of the HB 2536 implementation. It is the goal of all of the partners responsible for maintaining the Inventory to support and engage community providers in a process that results in better outcomes for ALL children and families in Washington, through the provision of the highest quality services for ALL of these clients.
We encourage providers who submitted an application in previous rounds, and who were asked to re-apply with additional information, to complete the re-application process. In the meantime, we recommend that agencies complete a promising practice application if they will benefit by having their practice identified beyond the potential for UW technical assistance and/or an HCA contract. It will be VERY RARE for promising practices to receive a contract, and all intensive TA will be devoted to developing those practices of interest to HCA for filling service gaps. Other benefits of being listed as a promising practice may include: improved quality of grant applications increased awareness of program development and evaluation techniques, and statewide acknowledgment of effective service provision within an agency.
Because EBPI has committed itself to allowing providers the opportunity to have their practices listed, and it acknowledges the benefits of appearing on the inventory, we do not wish to close the application process entirely. However, we do want to ensure that applicants understand the relatively low chance of garnering a contractor Tier 3 TA through the application process. If at any time you would like to call us, please do so at 206-221-3329. We are always happy to answer questions about the application, the support process, the inventory, and community participation.
After submitting an application you will receive a confirmation page that guarantees receipt of your application. By applying for promising practice status, you will also be automatically included on a listserv of providers and stakeholders who receive updates on technical assistance and other items of interest. Entering a promising practice onto the Inventory of EBP, RBP and Promising Practices does not guarantee that it will be funded by HCA. However, this application is a mandatory first step for receiving TA in the area of program evaluation from UW.
The key evaluation criteria are: 1) Potential to become a research-based or evidence-based practice and 2) Practice structure and implementation, 3) Preliminary data or well-established theory of change.
We solicit applications throughout the year, however, the inventory is only updated on an annual basis. New applications must be submitted by May 1, 2020 in order to be included on the September 2020 Inventory. Our ability to review late applications will depend on the volume of applications received after this date. If your practice is not reviewed in this round, don't worry! We are responsible for regular updates to the inventory.
Thank you!
